Education Committee
Education is one of the most fundamental needs of every human being, and the most powerful tool for overpowering social and economic adversity. Mercy For All has made it its primary duty to not only provide financial support to accommodate children’s and young adults’ educational needs, but to also provide schemes to encourage their advancement.
The most basic duty of the Education Committee is providing school supplies to students ranging from Elementary School to High School, and granting scholarships for university education. However the most valuable accomplishment is the educational supervision of children K-12, which is conducted by over 250 volunteer university students, who routinely tutor the students in their own homes. The advantage of utilizing a young work force is the minor age gap between them and the children, which creates common ground and language between them, as well as familiarity of the tutors with the children’s school subjects.
In addition, university orientations are organized to both encourage and accustom the students—who almost always come from families with no college education, to the university environment.
Through such extensive efforts of this committee, every year Mercy For All is proud to announce the entrance of numerous of its students to top universities in Iran.
Vocation Committee
Social workers in this committee, carry out assessments of the beneficiaries’ talents, interests, and potentials, through both direct relationships, as well standard career tests to guide their career choices.
Furthermore, the Vocation Committee assists beneficiaries with both finding jobs and providing the necessary training for their success.
Housing Committee
With ever increasing property prices and renting fees, many families struggle to maintain a roof over their heads, and therefore live under unfathomable conditions. Mercy For All endeavors to the best of its ability to seek out such families and provide for their shelter.
For this purpose, the Housing Committee rents suitable homes, and occasionally purchases and renovates houses of the beneficiaries. Currently, Mercy For All is in great need of donations to carry on this noble cause for many more in need.
Food Committee
Malnutrition is plaguing thousands, if not millions in Iran who cannot afford nutritious foods. Meat and rice have particularly become luxuries to too many disadvantaged families. Social workers, who work closely with the beneficiaries, monitor their food needs and provide reports for the Food Committee, which oversees the purchase and distribution of foodstuff to individual households. These distributions are usually conducted late at night by the volunteers, away from the glance of neighbors to prevent any possible embarrassment to the receiving families.
Clothing Committee
It is the duty of this committee to provide clothing for all beneficiaries. New clothes are purchased for every season and at ever traditional occasion, such as Eid-e-Nowrooz, the beginning of school, and etc.
Health-Care & Dental-Care Committees
As many of the beneficiaries are uninsured, Mercy For All relies on generous doctors and dentists to provide free medical care to the families. Presently there are 80 medical doctors, 17 dentists, and 3 hospitals providing health care for the organization.
For the aid seekers, arriving at the treatment stage is facilitated by the social workers, who are required to present regular reports to the Health-Care and Dental-Care Committees on the families’ physical health and well-being through maintaining steady contact with them.
Psychological Development Committee
This committee organizes the administration of regular tests for IQ, career interests, psychological disorders, etc.
With the growth and development of this committee an entirely separate institution has been established, which caters to approximately 150 mentally disabled girls.
Marriage Committee
For many couples, Mercy For All has brought them the greatest blessing of helping them start new families. The Marriage Committee, not only provides “Jaheezieh” (dowry), and covers marital expenses, it also aids the process of introducing families and individuals to one another for purposes of marriage.
Legal Support Committee
Through this committee, legal assistance for matters such as divorce, civil complains, and etc., are provided for the aid-seeking families, who otherwise lack the knowledge and support to take necessary legal action.
Loan Committee
This committee is responsible for granting loans to individuals and families. A system of micro-credit has also been established to fund small businesses.
Financial Planning Committee
With inflation on a rise, it is increasingly difficult to predict future costs. Nevertheless, it is the responsibility of the Financial Planning Committee to forecast the organization’s expenditures, and to carefully plan the annual budget.
Report Coordination Committee
Social workers, who without exception maintain frequent and steady contact with the aid-seekers, mostly by visiting them at their homes, generate reports on their education, healthcare, financial, and other needs. These reports are then promptly distributed by the Report Coordination Committee to the other relevant 12 committees of the organization.
